friendly reminder that the right way to fight palestinians being dehumanized and murdered is not by advocating for jews being dehumanized and murdered, because apparently some people need to hear this.

guys. we CANNOT let our support of palestine drive us to anti-semitism. that’s not going to help ANYONE. it’s only going to hurt more innocent people

Judaism and the Israeli government are not the same thing at ALL and should not be treated as such. yes, what the government of Israel is doing is AWFUL. no, it is not some random jewish guy that goes to your school’s fault.

someone told my partner yesterday (while they were arguing about trans rights??? completely unrelated) to “go light the menorah or whatever,” “free Palestine, Israel is trash and so are you,” and that “finding out ur a jew makes me dislike you more” along with other hateful things.

my partner supports Palestine. being jewish and supporting Palestine can and DO co-exist. anti-semitism within the pro-Palestinian movement is one of the main reasons it doesn’t have more support, especially from foreign leaders.

Judaism is not Israel. attacking jewish people is only going to make things worse for EVERYBODY, including Palestinians. i know a lot of people who are hesitant to affiliate themselves with the pro-Palestine movement because of how violently anti-semitic *some* parts of it can be. we are fighting against violence and injustice, we are fighting against a corrupt, power hungry government. we are NOT fighting against a demographic.
